This is a good quality medium decoration Kharaj/Pancham (Ravi Shankar style) sitar. It features 13 inlaid sympathetic pegs, 7 rose petal main pegs with a spun wood upper tumba. The langot (tailpiece) is brass while the bridges and nuts are natural bone. The instrument has contrasting color gourds charasteristic of Radha Krishna Sharma's sitars. Established by Sri Radha Krishna Sharma in Kolkata in 1948, the business has been expanded and carried on through his sons. While the company has a large output, the instruments maintain good quality standards.
