Manoj Kumar Sardar #3 Sitar

This is an excellent starter sitar that has proven to be very popular. It is in the Karaj/Pancham (Ravi Shankar) style and features simple decoration with double tumbas, 13 inlaid taraf (sympathetic) pegs, 7 swirl design main pegs, monochrome penwork, synthetic bridges and nuts with a brass langot (tailpiece). The carving and penwork are very nicely detailed. The tone and action is excellent. The Manoj Kumar Sardar sitars arre characterized by a clean bright sound. The shop is run by four brothers, all musicians and craftsmen, who carry on and improve on the traditions of their father, Khagendranath Sardar and their grandfather Mrityunjay Sardar.
