Ektar

This is a simple 2 stringed instrument also sometimes called a "dotar" It is made of a hollow tube inserted into a gourd, with the bridge sitting on a tightened skin head. It is usually used to provide a droning, rhythmic accompaniment to chants or kirtans. What we call a "dotar" is this.
